Plein Air
En plein air (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃ plɛn ɛːʁ], French for outdoors, or plein air painting) is the act of painting outdoors, open air or alfresco. Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. This method contrasts with studio painting providing for a more painterly style.
